‘A class act…we love her and so will you’ John Cooper Clarke
A professional poet and inter-disciplinary artist based in Wigan, Louise has become a much loved face at a number of festivals. She not only writes and performs her own creations, but teaches creative writing at the Secret Writers Club and Ink Inc. Young Writers
She has appeared countless times across the BBC television and radio network, blogged for The Guardian and featured in the Daily Mirror. Her work reflects a life well lived with previous jobs ranging from an NHS Operations Manager, careers advisor, podium dancer and warehouse operative.
Her published literary work includes books written for a 14s+ audience (The Lolitas / The Uniform Factory) and her poetry can be heard on audio collections (Love Is A Battlefield / Bird St / Council House Poetry).
She has also taken shows to Edinburgh Fringe and The Turnpike Art Gallery.
Her children and family work has included The Sleepover: a re-imagining of ‘The Princess and the Pea’ – commissioned by the Rural Touring Network, Just So Festival and Big Imaginations.
Louise is our poet-in-residence and she will be leading a ‘Sky-Ku’ poetry workshop as well as performing on the Forest stage on Saturday afternoon.
